    Small Fab Table

Ive been wanting to build this for a while, working on the ground was getting old. With some extra time off I finally was able to get this built. I didn't have any help so I had to improvise on how I put it together. I also failed to take many in process pictures, but you get the idea.

Base turned upside down, used, 1/4" plate, got the casters from Amazon.

Then got the upper frame installed, getting this squared up. Alone was a little frustrating at times, a 3rd hand would have been nice.

The top plate is 1/2", 3' x 4'. I turned the frame on its side and was able to get the top plate up and squared up to the frame and have it welded in place now.

Now I just need some help to turn it upright. Strong backs and weak minds would be handy.

Please don't zoom in and critique my welds...

Weld a 2 inch receiver to it and mount your vice to a piece of 2x2x1/4 square tubing so that it's removable and not in your way when you don't need it. How far does your plate over hang? If you have enough over hang you might add some angle iron around the edge to help beef up that 1/4 plate edge. Good looking table almost identical to the one in my shop.

Top plate is 1/2", bottom shelf is 1/4".

Considering the receiver idea, but plan to drill and tap for my vise.

Yup, they're rated for 1300 lbs.

I got it turned upright today and it rolls nicely.

Nice job on the table, heavy duty and will work good. I got tired of working on the floor also and built a table a few weeks ago. I thought I was the only one that had Christmas lights hung in the shop.
