Originally posted by Texas Grown View PostFor those that don't know, Jason Prossor's (aka Jaspros here) mother (Kay) and her family have a farm in Rising Star. Jason and his father were buried there. Jason lived there sometimes helping his grandfather and family before getting a job with TDC. I hope and pray they are doing well through this.
Chicken checked on them Friday, and they and the farm were good. Ranchers and firefighters had turned the fire 1/2 mile from them.
I have not heard anything since, but I will ask him to check.

We responded to a Facebook post needing help now can’t get a hold of the people to help them. Hope they are ok
Contact local fire dept or VfD, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

My widowed MIL lives north of Bluffdale off CR148. She was mandatorily evacuated off her 40 acres yesterday afternoon and only had time to grab one cat, some pictures, and her medicine before heading to our house in Springtown. She was called last night by a neighbor that told her the fire had burned through her place and got to his. It was assumed that the house had burned with everything else but when she & my wife were finally escorted in around noon today the house had survived. She lost a couple of outbuildings & equipment, 3 vehicles, and a lot of pasture & trees. Unbelievably, the fire had burned grass/trees on all four sides but didn't take the house. It burned about 3/4 of the pasture that I had some cows in, but all the livestock, dogs, and other cats came out unscathed. Praise the Lord!!
