Do you keep it in the freezer after it’s made? Happy Reason I ask is my stepson is in the army and he is on rotation over seas so it will take a couple weeks in the mail system to get to him.

Same here but I had to tweak the recipe. I only use the Allegro hot n spicy marinade to do mine. Me and the wife like ours a little more spicy and a little less smokey.

I do just because. I’m not really sure how long it will last outside of one because it never lasts long once I pull out a bag anyway. I’ve shipped it to folks but it’s never taken over a week.

Thank you Smart. I’ve been playing with your recipe and using Hickory Smoke, Hot & Spicy, and Honey Garlic. Thrown in some Dr. Pepper and dusted it with Lemon Pepper and we’re right on the heals of Buccees Lemon Pepper jerky. Some fresh cracked pepper and garlic powder were tossed in as well. Excellent sir. I was combining soy, worcestershire, liquid smoke and spices before this and this has been much better.

dehydrator versus oven - I've been using oven. While my jerky is ok, the dehydrator looks better. Is my rational correct or does it matter which is used to dry it?
