I did a race in that park back in '98. Used to be a biologist that lived in the park. She was studying what the deer ate. dissected any that were found dead. And told me they have a diet of over 300 items. Some prefer certain items over others just like people. I found it funny later to have deer stakes on the grill in the evening eight feet away, while a doe was eating corn chips off the opposite end of the picnic table I was sitting at.
