Is this 28 gauge ag panel/sheet metal/metal roofing any good

Is this 28 gauge sheet metal too thin for barn siding/roofing or is this what is normally used?

    Thanks

It is really thin. I would recommend using at least 26 gauge for roofing.

For a barn it should be fine. I’d use plenty of screws to attach it to purlins and keep the purlin spacing relatively close. You’ll have to use screws with grommets to prevent leaking but expect them to leak down the road. That type of roof panel just does over time. Grommets dry rot. At least that’s been my experience with r/panel style panels.

It will be fine for your barn, probably be around longer than we will.

Typical r panel is 26 gauge.
