Both sides just talk past one another. There is zero engagement between ideas. Democrats don't want to hear it because conservatives are screaming at them, conservatives don't want to hear the democrat argument that poor inner city folks do not have the opportunities suburban folks have because democrats throw race into it all the time.
If you don't believe me, turn on Michael Berry, Rush, or Levin for 5 minutes. They are always yelling. Then turn on Maddow, or the evening news. There is no yelling, but the facts are very distorted towards race, or some "oppressed minority".
