Christmas Eve Gift!!!!!! 2019

This was a old tradition my grandmother always did. She said that if you were the first to tell another person "Christmas Eve gift" on Christmas Eve, then they had to let you open one gift. My family has played this game for years but I haven't meet very many people outside of my family that does it. So if you're one of the few that know this tradition then, "Christmas Eve Gift"!!!! If not, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas

Don't have that tradition but we do have a "Christmas Eve Santa" gift we open every Christmas Eve. Always the same thing, new pajamas which we wear to bed that night.

My Grandmother would always say this, but no one ever knew what she was talking about. Now my Mom says it. I’m looking forward to telling her the same when I see her later today!

My family does. We do it over the phone though so no one really gets a gift except for just talking to the other.

We open gifts with my mom and sister on Christmas eve. My parents are divorced which is part of the reason for it. We have always done it though on some level because as a kid, we traveled to my grandparents on Christmas day and needed to lighten the load. Now we do it because we go to my wifes parents on Christmas day and I dont want to haul all our gifts.
