Help Me Pick My Next Hunting Caliber!

I have a 6.5 CM and I’m looking to add something with little more knock down without going too big with high recoil. It will he used for deer and Texas exotics mostly, but I’d like it to be capable of taking down most anything out west within reasonable distance.

Take a look at the 280 ai. I really like mine.

        .264 Winchester mag or a .300 H&H - .300 win

Can these be found in a good box manufacturer?

Honestly, a 7mm-08 with 140gr accubonds will handle elk out to 300-400 yards with no problem. Minimal recoil, and inherently accurate.

If I wanted to go bigger, I’d just make the jump to either a 28 Nosler or a 30 caliber.

I have been looking for the same thing and have found that savage makes them.

.270 Weatherby....love mine. 140 Accubond is deadly on WT, Axis, etc...
Flat shooting, recoil very manageable, and very hard hitting. All WT shot and axis bucks shot have been instant drops with heart/lung shots

Just seen those. Ive never owned a Savage. I hear the new guns are actually pretty decent. I like the looks of the 110 High Country

Looking at the .350 legend. Not a big distance round, but I dont shoot over 200 yards.

I'd go totally against the grain and get you an oddball caliber in this day and age of the backyard sniper. Something really off the wall and rare like....say... a .270, 30-06 or 300 winmag
