I approached this hog straight into his face, and did not see him there at first. He was only about 15 yards away. He was sleeping and never opened his eyes, until the bullet hit him.
The hog is in the center of the picture, in that mud. This is the angle from which I approached, and shot.

So I was spraying brush around the perimeter of a small tank, and heard some splashing. It is a tank where I have killed several hogs. I was wearing a 4-gallon backpack sprayer, and my Glock 17. I crouched down and listened. A few moments later, through the brush, a hog traipses into my field of view, at the waterline. I deliberately draw my pistol, take grip, and fire. Several more hogs jump up from the same spot, which has a little ledge drop off into the water. I hit another one as she runs by. I finish up the remainder of what is in my backpack sprayer, and then take up the trail. Not much blood at first. Just a spot where I think the hog blew blood out of her nose. I determine the line of flight and move in that direction and begin picking up more and more blood as I proceed. It gets to where it is very heavy. I get to a spot and I hear some noise in the brush, several yards out from the tank. I see two more hogs, and I draw, grip and fire. I walk over to the clump of brush where they were standing and one of the Hogs from the original shooting is laying there dead. I will let the buzzards find the other two tomorrow.

2 more. BeeBop helped on one and my dad scattered one across both lanes of traffic on way to the barn Friday ( needs new bumper..... but killed the pig!)

2003 total (makes 215 for me not counting the splattered one)
