Any of you guys on here hunt saddles on the south facing slopes. I started scouting a couple and was wondering where yall would set up on this to hunt?

The red line is a overgrown logging road I had to cut in to gain access. About 100 yards from the end we stopped cutting and left thick. Put a camera where the pin drop is and caught deer, pigs, and bear travel right across the end of the road.

I hunt up Atoka on our family land. I’ll be up there most of my days I’m not working during season. I have a blue lacy tracking dog that will be with me any time I’m up in Oklahoma should any of you guys within reasonable distance need tracking. Text works best for me - two five 4 - 747 - two 3 five 4

Not to discourage you, but bad thing about south facing slopes is the predominant wind in Oklahoma is south, most deer I have hunted bed on north facing slopes so they can see down hill and smell anything coming from behind them.

How do you feed protein and keep the bears off of it?

We're in Southeast Atoka Co. no bears thankfully. I suspect one might pop up on the trail cams one day maybe. They certainly aren't far away.

You can feed protein but it might take a few evenings/nights to give those over grown trash pandas lead poisoning. That’s is how we handle them on our leases

Went up and started prepping food plots and getting ready last week. We don't have many good bucks on camera yet. But, we haven't had the cameras running very long and we suspect they're spending their summer on the neighboring property. I have faith they'll make their way to us. everyone's bucks are looking good!
