I’m listening to a fascinating podcast regarding Raven 23, a Black Water security team, who during the course of escorting a diplomat were involved in a shootout in Fallujah. In the shootout civilians were killed. An investigation ensued and ultimately 4 veterans, Black Water guys were tried (multiple trials), eventually convicted and sentenced to life.
The crux of it is that they seemed to have been rail roaded into the conviction.
I’m sure there is more to the story. But even the self described liberal who essentially disagrees with the Middle East War, who is conducting the podcast investigation is convinced the 4 men were wrongly convicted.
2 of the men are from the small Texas towns of Olney and Dickens. Dickens is just 30 mins down the road from me.
