Look at the picture where the deer is walking towards the camera. The calluses on his front knees are a good indicator of a 6.5+ deer.

Interesting - thanks for the info. Have not heard that before. Every tidbit helps

OP - what is the wire cage in the background for? Protecting a tree? Perch trap for the next heavy rain?

Itís a cotton seed feeder. After seeing these pictures I think heís right at 160Ē thatís a big frame. Shame he didnít keep that split 3 this year.

I dont remember this much agreement on a deer. 160 to 170. 6 plus. I had him at 165. Those web brutes are big bodies though. Would not surprise me if he hit 70.

He must not be big enough or old enough since he is running around in daylight after bow season opened!

Wow, Iím really surprised at the consistency in responses. I know heís 5+ because of history with him, but Iím not convinced heís 6+. That being said, our deer have been in great shape all summer. Younger deer look more mature, and older deer look younger. I have him at 152Ē, my buddy I hung with says 152Ē-156Ē. Our place is MLD, but we canít start hunting until the rifle opener, even though we bow hunt 95% of the time. They just flew our pasture on Friday and saw this deer from the air. Ranch mgr told me 150ís.

I watched this deer multiple times last year. Had some traits that made him look 7 and some that made him look 4. I completely agree with his knees making him look old. They did last year as well. Iím still torn on how old he is. My gut is saying 5 or 6.

I thinking 5-6 years old. His calluses on the knees are not big enough to put him any older. Not a lot of loss skin hanging either. Just don't look any older then 6 to me. If he were 7 plus I would think hawks would be a little more stained from years of peeing on them.

He must be really small bodied then. You know what your frames are.

What do you give him for beams/spread/mass?
