Default Canada Hunt Adventure Recap(Pic Heavy)

As a kid I always dreamt of going on big mountain adventure. And the animal that always called out to me was a mountain goat. Something about their thick white coats and stoic stance makes them so majestic to me. Places they call home, so rugged and steep makes me crave the challenge.
This trip came about rather quickly. I had tried setting up a Mexico Muley hunted w/my dad, brother, and I. Schedules eventually didnít allow for them. So after a talk w/my wife about me heading to Mexico alone and her comfort w/it. She said she rather I know go at it alone. Then asked if thatís what I really want to do? I said what I REALLY want to do is hunt a mountain goat, and the only place I liked to do is British Columbia. My beautiful wife says, ďwell do thatĒ!! Within a week I was booked. Lol
Booking turned out to be super simple. I had already ckd out every single outfitter at DSC and some others online. Made 2 calls, spoke to husband and wife team and didnít necessarily feel good about it. My second call was to Doug Mckee of Muskwa River Adventures. Instantly felt at ease w/Doug. He seemed like a very direct and matter of fact person. Gave me realistic expectations and by the end of a 5 min phone call he was emailing hunter package and I was booked.
Worked my butt off to get in shape and hunt was upon me before I knew it. The region we were hunting is NE BC. The river we would be near is a snaking river know Muskwa.

My hunt would consist of 10 days on the mountain w/some travel days and overnights in a hotel.
First leg DFW to Vancouver. Make it through to bar.Dallas Blond to send me off.
On the plane, just made sense.

Plan changes to flying in on account of low water conditions on the river.

Pregame
We are joined in camp by Lonnie(Dougís son)who will be guiding me. Greg(guide for solo elk hunter)Austin(wrangler) and Brandon(Doug Ďs nephew).
Brandon had been in camp awhile hunting elk w/Doug and wanted to stick around to help glass and guide. He had been fortunate in taking a nice bull elk.

The next we go take a little boat ride to glass some other spots. For goats and sheep.

So not a long trip, hahaha. No one got tossed out!! But guys are wet and starts snowing so we head back to camp. Try in the afternoon.

So after a grueling hike up we locate some goats. Several on a face. Lonnie spots a good one and I setup for a shot.
200 yd shot, I squeeze the trigger. Expecting a follow up. Lonnie says ď you dropped itĒ. I canít hardly believe it!!! I ask are u serious?? We share a hug and I thank for helping fulfill my #1 dream and goal.
Lonnie packed a couple beers for anticipated celebration. Itís Bud Light...I hate Bud Light!!! But rt now nothing will erase this smile!!

On top of the world!!!!

We worried about sheep hunters because clouds were low and weather was scheduled to move in. Fortunately clouds cleared up and Al got his chance. He flattened a ram at 400 yds, Doug took a cull ram w/awesome character too.
Alís ram.

Had this elk bull called in to 80 yds., but not legal.
After a bear. Five minutes from glassing him and we are clouded in, no dice. We keep on trucking hunting for animals down below. Few encounters but generally quiet for next few days.
