Default The Official 2018-2019 Lake Whitney , Lake Aquilla hunting thread.

2017-2018 season has come and gone. Some were fruitful some were not. As the new season approaches we take all we learned the year before and put it to action this season. I ask that we all be safe , and that we all be courteous to each other. May the deer gods bless you with a full freezer and a wall hanger. Good luck ladys and gents. Let the season begin.

Yay! It's here! Thanks Justin for taking the time to start the new thread. Great opening too!

May everybody have a great season. And remember, it's not the size of the animal that makes it a trophy, but the memories made in taking it. Long live your memories!

This will be my first year at Whitney for deer and duck. It will be my daughter's first year to hunt. We will split our time between here and LBJ. Duck with my son and Deer with my daughter (I have to split them up so they don't shoot each other!) I look forward to and hope for a safe and rewarding season for all.

Hadn't been there in a while. I've done real good some years, other years brought the shotgun home and just wiped down the exterior (no bore cleaning necessary).

It should be good this year, lake is low, except for the rain a couple weeks ago it was dry. Always been best when dry. I'll be down this weekend, not sure if I'll be in the boat or just walk-in.

I have spoken with an acquaintance in the area, he said that he wasn't seeing many birds, but hasn't actually been on the lake.

I really enjoyed the gtg and seeing familiar and new faces. I rambled on until everyone left. And thank you very much Storm.

I wish everyone a rewarding season and as TG says, cherish those memories. Especially those with friends. They mean a lot when you get old and those friends are no longer around.

Please post your experiences on here. I really enjoy following along.

Think I'll take it a little easy tomorrow, no boat, I'll walk in by Plowman and see if I can find some dove.

Just get it done before the bow season starts. You don't wanna be "that guy" that walks around mid morning while everyone else is still hunting till late morning or noon. Good way to upset a lot of folk. And it gets crowded as it is.

Iím baaAaack. Hello all, it has been a rough year. After a year of surgeries, one on the tail bone( yes it was A pain in the ***), a gastric sleeve, and a total knee replacement. So I did not hunt at all last year. So aside from being a pain in the ***, and being really kneedy, I am now half the man I used to be. If feels good to get back in a uniform that is the same size that I wore 25 years ago.Name: IMG_0068.jpg

Dad-gum Tommy, look nice, when you making it this way next? Lost 145, heck you almost lost me- don't take that the wrong way.

Only ended up with 3 of Storms 8 dove this morning, had a few sneak over my head while I was daydreaming.
