Don't want to use chemicals that will contaminate the meat.

Nothing. Some of the hogs we shoot are so covered in fleas we don’t even mess with them. Drag’em into the brush...
I was told to leave them lay until the hog cools off for and hour or so and they’ll jump off. I’ve found this to be BS! :-)

If I'm in the mood to clean a pig and it had fleas I'd just skin it and when meat is in the cooler I'd go inside and take a shower.

Hang it to skin. Pressure wash. Drink beer. Go to town. Knocks all the fleas, mud and ticks off.
