Also had Cody Custer, Cody Snyder, Jim Sharp in the mix.

        Red Rocks final NFR

Rob Smets fighting, probably one of the toughest humans to ever walk this earth

Hadley Barrett and Bob Tallman announcing.

The 80's NFRs are some of my favorite videos of all time.

Jim Sharp and Cody Custer were in that one too. With them, Lane Frost, TN, and Tuff that was 5 world champions in that final.

My Father was a great friend with Gary"Roach" Hedeman
I am proud to say I saw both ride at the El Paso County Colosseum as a youngster

6- Cody Snyder was a world champ in 82 or 83. Talk about a stacked field!

How would you say the bull riders of today are different than those from the 80’s?
In terms of strength and fitness? Technique? Seems like those from the 80’s era were tougher but today’s competitors are much smarter and better trained.

You have to be tough to ride bulls no two ways about it. They all ride hurt and aching!!!

I was amazed at the big stout Hereford roping calves.

You're right. I forgot about Cody Snyder. Dang that was a heck of group. Lane definitely earned the title that year.
