Default Barndominium Build - Deep East Texas

My wife and I purchased 10 acres back in December 2018 with plans to build a shop and eventually a home. Fast forward to today and we have small barndominium being built as we speak.

We still have plans to build a house on the place when the time and funds are right (most likely 3-5 years from now). My wife and I have no kids so this barndo is being built as an efficiency apt/man cave as we will still keep our home in town.

I will try to post as many pictures as I can from start of the land clearing to current pics and will update as I go.

40x60x16 with two 24x60 lean to's

20x40 apt with loft over head

I'll let the pictures do the story telling.

Hope y'all enjoy

Where in East Texas are you building?
Just anchored the first piece of lumber to the slab on ours yesterday between Lake Fork and Lake Tawakoni.

Default Barndominium Build - Deep East Texas

Sorry for the picture overload as I seem to take a lot of pictures. I feel the pictures carry you through the entire process thus far.

Here is where we currently are.

Hoping to finish the metal work next week if the rain can hold out.

Thank ya sir. I think it turned out nice. Will be adding an auto entrance to it once I get the driveway done

Freaking AWESOME job so far Cory. I’m so envious of that beautiful red dirt I can barely contain myself.
That entrance looks great and the building is coming along very nicely. You will be glad you have those lean tos as well. Superb job on all accounts so far sir!

I wish I could claim that those were my welds but they are actually a good friend of mines. He built the entrance, gate, and fence for me. I only assisted him when he needed a hand.
