I think the usefulness of cottonseed is about gone at todayís prices. It was good when it was cheaper to overcome the PIA for putting it out. Might as well go protein pellets now for convenience and getting a mineral pack in it.

I can understand your stance. My crew has limited budget, but plenty of young backs!

Even at the 285/ton we recently paid, itís half the price of protein pellets in a bag.

We can get the 17% protein at Palmers around $340-350 a ton bagged. A little less in bulk trailer.

You ladies seeing any turkey?..... It has been pathetic on camera this spring so far. We usually have hens all over the cameras this time of year with the gobblers showing up in March. With as little rain as we had this fall and winter up until the last week and no real green winter grass to speak of, you'd think they would be all over corn, but they aren't. We're hoping the astronomical amount of acorns from this fall have kept them away.

I think I have had two pics of turkeys since mid December. One of about 10 hens (normally our groups are 30-50) and the other pic was 3 jakes. Spent 2 days there last weekend filling protein and water all over the ranch and saw one small flock of hens driving out early Sunday am. Last year was down some but still productive. This, so far, seems much worse. Needless to say, I'm concerned about this year.....but still holding out that they will show.

Our turkey has been far and few between. Got 1 pic of a flock during deer season and the grandson said he heard some but didn't see them. Last year was not good, but it's still a good excuse to get out there.

17% was $360 a ton bagged and $350 bulk. Found one shed but saw plenty of deer with full headgear still.

I have 3 nice rifle stands (box blinds) that are elevated. 2 with squar tubing frame and one all wood. Also have a bucees stand and fill all forsale in the bronte area if anyone is interested. I posted in forsale section but figured this would be a good spot. 1500 for everything to will separate. Just need to get it off the property sooner the later. PM me for pictures.

Made it out to the lease this weekend with my pops and the fellas. Got to share an amazing hunt with my dad and Was able to connect on a big sow. As a group we probably found around 15 sheds this weekend with a lot LF bucks still carrying both sides.

Default 2020 San Angelo surrounding area season thread..

Did the medicated wormer protein thing on our place this weekend... At $21.50/sack it adds up quick so we cut it a little bit with a redneck blender (see video).. Brushed in turkey blinds, re-palleted water totes that had rotted out, built a deck, leveled the farmhouse and trapped 5 coons. We must be getting close to eradicating or they have another food source because we trapped for 3 days with 10-21 traps and caught 5...

Great! I set up my rain catchment system last time I was out. I bet my tank is full. Hopefully it's enough to bring the pond up substantially too.
