Ok got a lot done over the past two weekends! The tin that goes over all the outlets upstairs and the end wall wood is up! I was really dreading cutting out the outlet holes for 9 outlet holes upstairs but it turned out it wasn't as bad as I thought. I don't want to do it again but thank goodness it's done. Also this weekend my 16 year son and I started the 12 x 32 section of the back deck that will be covered also. I know $600 of lumber didn't go very far but we got the basic frame and layout done and it is level and almost perfectly square. Only off 1/8 of an inch corner too corner. That's as close as we could get it, should be fine though. This thing is really starting to look good. My wife has not seen the cabin except in pictures for about 6 months. Wednesday we are going to go out there so she can see it in person. We are all getting pretty excited as this thing is turning out nicer than we originally thought it would.

Got some more updates. We finally got a perfect day to burn the old run down cabin I have been wanting to burn down for 5 years. It was the biggest fire I have even seen but with it raining and everything completely soaked it was a perfect day to get rid of this eyesore. My son Justin walked up on a giant pig a shot him in the neck with a ar-10 at 30 yards! Got the back deck done just waiting on the metal roof. Also finished the floor and it turned out great! Also changed out all 5 of the windows to some awesome dual pane argon filled low e glass windows. Made a HUGE difference inside the cabin for noise and insulation! Little by little we are checking things off.

Thanks guys me and my sons have really worked hard on this place and can't wait for it to be done. For the past 10 months I have felt like I have 2 jobs. It will all be worth it in the end. On track to be debt free by my 50th birthday!

It was in pretty bad shape 17 years ago when we bought the place and over the years has gotten worse. I never like the layout and it wasn't built very well. It served it purpose for some time for us but I just didn't want to put any more money into it.

I am addicted to sitting on that deck and just enjoying the view. Can't wait to finish the other 12 feet out and put the fire pit and hot tub in!

Ok got some new pictures and updates. The rain has put a serious dent in my timing plans. 17 years in this area and have never seen this much water out there. Anyway I have all the plumbing stubbed in and the shower fixture in. Also have 2 walls in the living/kitchen area done to the ceiling. Put up trim around the doors and framed in around 2 of the windows. I will still put trim around the edge of the windows just ran out of lumber. It is really starting to look like a small house and can't wait to get it finished up. Hopefully by next weekends end will have running water inside and functional toilet and shower!

Itís 12 feet out and is 2 inches lower at the edge than at the cabin. Not much drop but it is metal so water runs right off.

It's really looking nice. I would only suggest you put rain gutters on the porches. I learned the hard way that they are needed.

Got the kitchen wall done and the cabinets up. Also installed the microwave. The far right will be a refrigerator. The far left will be a stove then a 18 dishwasher. Really turned out better than I thought it would! Will try and finish the bathroom walls this weekend.

Well got the kitchen pretty much done just need to take the stove out there and slide it in. Yesterday had Mark from Midtex Mulching come out and work on our road. This is the most amazing machine I have ever seen work! He turned a half of mile of road that was so bumpy you couldn't drive more than 5 mph into a pretty much smooth gravel road. This machine just eats rocks and flattens as it goes and leaves a flat gravel base. He was there from 10-6 and only cost me $1400. We are getting closer and will be listing our house in Hunt for sale soon.
