Into the metal frame I used a trailer floor screw that is a “wood to metal” screw. No need to predrill those

Man you did a great job on that! The metal frame and the T-111 siding will last for years!

Only thing I would have done different would have been to raise the shelves up flush with the bottom of the windows. I like it that way for a solid rest for a rifle.

If I could weld I still wouldn't be able to do what you did with that stand...excellent.

That would allow items to fall out window if open, and prevent the window from sealing when closed. I’ll add sand bags for gun rest. She shoots off field pod anyway.... but mainly to keep binoculars, drinks,.... colors.... barbies... you know essential hunting gear consealed and not fall out of blind

I love the attention to detail and HD construction.

TIP: Keep a couple Sharpie markers inside and write date, name, and details of each kill from stand. Over the years they will bring back so many memories. It's the favorite part of my forever box blind....

I've got to build another one pretty soon. I think I'm gonna put a 1X4 or 1X6 shelf across the front and sides, level with the window for resting rifles. Then put a 1X4 shelf about a foot below for drinks, binos, etc.

I painted the front edge of a shelf white in one blind to do this, I love reading them. In my latest blind I put a ~30"X30" piece of white dry erase board on the wall that we write on with sharpie.

You can see the shelf top right.
