I started with this as a base. My boys like 'em sweet so I added a bit more brown sugar, molasses, dark cane syrup, honey, and a bit of ground ginger (that was my wife's secret). That's the only thing on the pit so I started them at 250 for an hour then 325 for an hour. I got a late start and we're hungry! I've got some smoked venison sausage to go with it. ****... Did I say I was hungry?!

These always come out great! Mix it up when you do it at home and try other seasonings. They are always a hit!

I make a similar family recipe with the addition of 1lb of cubed sharp cheddar, 1 can of kidney beans, and 1 can of butter beans .....

Went through about 4 gallons of these yesterday. Had a Daytona 500 party and the beans were the star of the party. Everyone loved them.

At the risk of Jasonís head getting any darn bigger than it already is.....I will say that I tried this recipe for the first time a couple of months ago and they were the BEST Iíve ever eaten in my now 55 years on the planet!!
