Well spoken sir!!! I try to get my girls on the water and in the woods every chance we get. Headed out in the morning for 11 days of coastal action

They are more interested in burning gas in their 80k flats boats and playing their music load than fishing.

Iím lucky, Iíve been fishing the matagorda area since I was 5 when my parents bought their place in Chinquapin. They have since sold it, but live 15 minutes from the harbor. Spending my time down there duck hunting and fishing for all of my youth has instilled in me a strong passion for the outdoors.

Me & FVRJR waded west Galveston bay this evening. Great water, lots of bait & good tide. Just no fish or not many. I ended up catching 2 flounder & 1 speck & had 2 throwback trout & a red. JR had 1 speck. I was using DSL's & vudu skrimp. JR used DSL & live skrimp. Maybe the next trip. A nice relaxing evening for sure. Headed to the ranch in the AM for a few days.

I'm heading to Matagorda Tuesday next week and the forecast is calling for SW winds every day. I've heard that's not the best fishing wind, but any tips on how to fish it and where?

There will still be good coves to fish on a SW wind. Definitely not my favorite but I've slammed them on it many times. Good luck!

Whatís the best way to learn the ins and outs of bay fishing around Galveston? Not fortunate enough to have family that knows the area but I want to make those memories with my kiddo. Looking at buying a boat later this year and jumping in, no pun intended. Iíve heard good things about trout support dvds.

We fought that wind last year a lot. Seems like itíll be light, as long as you can find some decent water you should be good. Iíd focus on the west side of East Bay.

There are kids that have it harder for sure but he is working 30-50 hours a week while maintaining Bís in 12-15 hours of college classes. Iím actually pretty happy this is something to spend his money given all the other things it could be!

I bought the Trout Support videos for my Grandson. I watched them with him and I have to say there's a lot of good info on them. I learned a thing or five from them. Tobin is a great guy to know, he's a great fisherman also. I'd recommend them. Also as said before a teaching guide is a good investment.

Not the direction of the wind that’s bad, it’s the pressure....
Most of the time in the summer, a SW wind is caused by high pressure

Wife and I headed down to Matty this morning did a little wade and came up with a few nice trout then spent the rest of the day playing around at the beach.Name: 58402615378__5CE2560F-C950-49B8-910D-D91429C38924.jpg
