Thumbs up Protect your protein COONHOOD

Hey TBHers

Hope you all had a great holiday season. 2018 was an interesting year with the main focus of introducing the Coonhood products to the market and informing as many people as possible about what our products do and how they work.

ďLike starting a fire with wet woodĒ is the phrase I have uttered quite a few time over the past year. It has not been an easy road trying to educate the market and spread the word but you guys here at TBH have helped out tremendously!

well 2018 is over and I think the fire has finally began to catch. As We are nearing the end of deer season folks are gearing up for protein and many are making the decision to feed deer this go round rather than the coons. With savings of up to 50% on your protein bill most have discovered the CoonHoods are ďno brainersĒ

I encourage you guys if you are wanting to get CoonHoods for this protein season donít delay, we are already at about a 3 week backlog and the orders are coming in quickly and (hopefully) will continue into the mid summer months.

If I have not peppered the green screen enough with my posts and you still donít know what CoonHoods are

please visit www.coonhood.com.

And learn how you can literally cut your protein bill and the trips out to fill feeders in half!!

Thanks again Guys!

I have had the hoods on my Boss Buck since last summer. I had a serious coon problem. I tried trapping them but they got wise to the traps. The coon hoods did the trick after raising the feeder a few inches. I will be buying another gravity feeder for another property next month. I'll be putting a coon hood on it as well. Good product.

Iíve had my coonhoods going on now for about a year and a half. Had a boatload of coons camped out on it every night. I canít remember the last time I had a coon caught on my cell cam at my feeder location.

A must for every protein feeder in Texas! Get you some!

I believe it's listed but not pictured, do you make a hood for this model of ASF?

I tried to get a design to work for the foreverlast/ asf galvanized as picture but unfortunately because of the short chutes could never arrive at a design I felt confident in. I have had some guys switch the heads with boss buck protein heads which you can buy through cabelas online and we do make models for those. Sorry for the inconveience.

The prices depend on the model and they are on the website under attachable hoods tab. We donít have any TBH specials going on right now but we have quantity discounts when ordering for 4 or more feeders. Send me an email with the feeder type you have and the quantities as we can go from here.

These are a slick design, I imagine they help some with moisture build up as well from the rain.

Yea I actually had a few customer comment on that. It runs right off rather than falling inside the opening of the chute. E

No-Tox custom Coonhood progress pics

This protein head is difficult because of the shorter chutes. Also presents a problem that the head does not come off so the mount has to be designed to attach around the tube rather than slip over the top like the boss bucks models. Here’s what I got so far.

The Coonhood concept might be simple but the design of each model can take some serious time. Between adjusting all the angles Calculating moments vs spring rates for every iteration and then checking all clearances, new designs are not worth the money. But I do it because I enjoy designing and I want to help guys out.

Contact me to learn more about CoonHoods and how I can help you cut your protein bill in half!

They can eat up to 4 lb per night. However they can dig 100s of lbs out of the feeder into the ground in a night just because they hate you.

I am going to take an educated guess and say a LOT of protein is wasted on the ground when it gets wet, and doesn't benefit anything.

I can definitely help you with the older Krivoman feeders with the longer chutes! Shoot me an email hpopnoe@coonhood.com however The new small box head design they use now is not a good fit for the CoonHoods.

I got back up to our place in Oklahoma this past weekend and checked on the Boss Buck 300lb 3-Way feeder that I put out the first week of January. I expected to find my feeder empty but to my surprise I still had almost 50lbs left in it!!!!

Here you can see the dirty little rascals probing and trying to defeat the CoonHoods.
https://youtu.be/MsnqSQEHjRI

They picked up what the deer dropped and even stood up and reached inside the feeder tube lip as far as they could to reach a pellet or two but they never were able to hang from the feeder tube or sit on it to take out protein!!!!!

If I hadnít had the CoonHoods installed Iím certain that this 300lbs of protein would not have lasted three weeks.

For those of you concerned that the CoonHoods may scare away or keep your deer from eating, it only took the deer on my place about 10 days to warm up to the new Boss Buck protein feeder. This is the first time protein has ever been fed on our place.

https://youtu.be/4-0xxrZmtNU
Iíd say that they are pretty comfortable.
https://youtu.be/4-0xxrZmtNU

My only adjustment at this point is to re-level my feeder (one leg sunk in a soft spot) so that the coons cannot reach the bottom of the hood or tube.

So far the results have been excellent!

Iíd say that they are pretty comfortable.

My only adjustment at this point is to re-level my feeder (one leg sunk in a soft spot) so that the coons cannot reach the bottom of the hood or tube.

So far the results have been excellent!

Micah,

Glad to hear the CoonHoods are serving you well! Really appreciate he post and the videos!!!

Thanks again!
