    Kansas Hunting Question?

My brother just got on a lease in Kansas this year. What are the rules on getting a deer home to Texas if he kills one.

Tag it with a KS tag and drive home with it.
Keep proof of sex with the meat just like here
But there aren't any deer in KS!

My brother said he thought meat had to be deboned and you had to have antlers with cleaned skull cap. He said it had to do CWD.

Hmmm.....I just looked at it and see just a few press releases on the reg from 2019. Based on the press release, I could tear it apart but I haven't seen the actual law.
I have transported a lot of deer carcasses from KS to TX and never had an issue. The most recent being 2019. I typically bring back the frozen head/hide and quartered meat. I may do a little more research on this topic.

Quarter the deer. Use a local taxidermist. There are plenty and it’s usually cheaper than Texas.

FYI the tag stays with the meat not the antlers. You can tote a deer head around without a tag all day. If you get caught with a cooler of meat and no tag you are getting a ticket.

Not on the topic of transporting game, but dress for a cold wind...cuts like a knife!?

                      Congrats to your brother

Hope he drew a tag for this year

Also it can be dang cold up there. Going to need some good cold weather gear with wind blocker for sure

What part (general) is he hunting in?

Yes he drew a tag and he’s hunting near Kingman.
