I don't think they are. I was driving home last night with my 14 yo daughter, she was playing a country country song on her phone that we both love that's probably older than I am, and we were both singing it. I was reminded that I need to appreciate the small things in life. It sure seems like our country is going to hell in hand basket and maybe it is, but my family is healthy, we have everything we need and I'll keep focusing on raising smart kids with good heads on their shoulders.

Hey JackRyan your last words were “raising smart kids with good heads on their shoulders”. Not a stretch to believe Merle Ronald Haggard himself might have put together words like that. I believe you got it right. Keep singing those country songs with your daughter, she is our future.

The good times are done my friend. But, we can keep on trucking and make these times as good as we can for our children. Great song

One of my all time favorites. Sad thing is the song came true. I think all the good times are over.

Bad things happen in life if you let it happen. It's all in the mindset you have. If you let your life become crap it will. So that's a question you have to ask yourself.

My last Chevy lasted 12 years!!:

                              Stop rolling down hill
Like a snowball headed for Hell
                              Stand up for the Flag
And let's all ring the Liberty Bell

                              Let's make a Ford and a Chevy
Still last ten years like they should
The best of the free life is still yet to come
The good times ain't over for good

Pair this song with " The Fighting Side of Me "

"They love our Milk & Honey but preach about some other way of livin, when you're running down my country man you're walkin on the fightin side of me "

" Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me
Runnin' down the way of life
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep
If you don't love it, leave it
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'
When you're runnin' down my country, man
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me "
