Thanks! No offense taken.

Have a couple buddies that hunt in Safari and they have crappy rules this season. Deer in there are native genetics. They can get 150”-160” but no different than what I have every 2-3 yrs on my place.

Ready for the morning! Glassed this evening didnít see my buck around. Started packing up and cell cam at my climber went off. Big guy was where he needed to be! I waited a few more minutes and he now has moved to where I have seen him the last 3 evenings and bedded down 80 yds from my climber. Hope he stays put until morning and comes back by.

Has he been at the other stand every morning? They tend to be creatures of habit this time of year.

Fox here now followed 5’ behind me the whole way. LOL...

I made the switcharoo and set up 600 yds from my other spot he has been in. If no sightings this morning then I’ll see him this evening at the other set.

No clue. The last 3 months he has been a regular there in the evenings and then this past week he moved and I couldnít find him in the mornings. Set a cam at this spot 2 days ago and signal wouldnít reach. Moved cam yesterday and pics came through that it took while over here. We will see what happens. Really good befriend of mine is 400 yds from me after a big buck as well.

That was rough! I eased in on a trail and ran into 4 doe. Decided to stay put and 10 minutes later had 3 bucks he runs with come straight to me. One stared at me forever and finally decided to turn around. I caught movement behind me and my buck had entered a small shooting lane 30 yds. I ranged him 33 and drew back. As I settled he quartered away and then bolted a good 100-150 yds. Stopped on a tree line, made a scrape and worked his way towards an oak thicket. I got on him again a few minutes later and he walked within 19 yds. This time he saw me and I wasnít chancing the shot through a little brush. Hopefully didnít push him too much. Climber is ready for this evening so we will see if he takes the same pattern he has been on the last 3 evenings.

My set up behind a big root pile from a tree blown over was pretty nice!

What a sick sick feeling. I’ll update in a bit. Shot was taken, arrow ricocheted and is now in the deer not where I wanted it. Forward not back and I did find him 30 minutes after the shot on his feet. I’m just sick to my stomach right now.

Dog won’t do any good without blood. Front shoulder just above brisket and not a drop of blood. He should be fine.

I set cell cams throughout the area I know he roams. Pray to God I get a pic tonight of him. Plan tomorrow is to stalk with the compound and locate him. If he is bedded then I will find a way to get in for a shot with my compound. Just a terrible feeling. I did my homework and had this deer read the script perfectly. Couldn’t have asked for a better position.

Last sighting of him he had the arrow in him and not much penetration due to it hitting him sideways basically. He seemed fine. I marked location GPS and will continue on in the morning.
