I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning. DJs were talking about the last words that George Jones spoke before he passed away. One of them asked the other if he'd heard about it? The other said he hadnt. He said, that Georges wife released a statement that said:
George had been on his death bed and hadnt spoken for quite a long time. One day, she was standing at the foot of his bed, with the doctor. George suddenly opened his eyes. She stepped towards him but the doctor held her back. She said that George said "well, nice to meet you. I've been looking for you. My name is George Jones." and he closed his eyes and passed away.
She said she firmly believes that he saw God, and closed his eyes.

There was a thread on here some years ago asking the biggest music act you had been to, or something like that. My biggest was George Jones in the mid 1980s. Verbena Al. Ol’ George never got out of the bus!
It was during his prime singing, drinking and whatever else days!
