Odd Request: Content Recommendations for Preteen Girl

Only 55 days until hunting season.

I know this may be a bit of an odd request but am hoping some TBHers can give me some ideas.

I am lucky enough to have my 12 year old cousin (like a niece to me) staying here in Texas with me for about a month. She is about the sweetest, most respectful, and good-hearted 12 year old girl there is. My cousins do an awesome job raising her.

We spend almost all of our time outside, but with the current heat here in Texas (she lives in RI), we have to spend sometime indoors during the day. She loves reading, and occasionally we’ll watch tv (primarily streaming).

I’m hoping some TBH’ers with daughters her age can recommend some good books and shows/movies that are preteen/young teen appropriate. Other inside entertainment options are welcome as well. Like I said, her parents do an awesome job making sure the things she consumes promote good virtues and Christian values, so I’d like to make sure I do the same while she is with us. TIA.

why didn’t I think of that?

Got a couple recs from her parents, looking to broaden the search a bit. Some of the books from their library are not available here. Same with movies from their library vs. streaming.

I know there are some TBHers with kids in the same age range that care what they consume.

My older girls are 17, 15, 12. Here’s some of what they’ve really enjoyed.

                        My girls loved
                        Nancy Drew,
                        Wingfeather Saga Series,
                        Louisa Mae Alcott,
100 Cupboard (really anything by ND Wilson), Indian in the Cupboard series,
                        the Boxcar Children,
                        anything by Edith Nesbit,
                        Chronicles of Narnia series,
                        Bobbsey Twins,
                        The Penderwicks,
                        Mandie books,
                        the Borrowers,
                        Laura Ingals Wilder

Most of classics are available for free in public domain.

I wish you were closer, we’ve got hundreds and hundreds of books.

Soul Suffer. Great movie, very motivating. My granddaughter’s love it. About a young suffer that loose’s her arm from a shark attack and continues to surge.

This is old. But, if she is familiar with the bible, the Left Behind series will definitely stimulate the imagination. There is a paperback series that you might, can find.
