Makita vs Dewalt vs Bosch

Need to get a decent jig saw ~ $150. Makita or Dewalt or Bosch. What have you had the best luck with?

Ive had good luck with DeWalt and bad w Bosch (batteries quit holding charge w in a year). Don’t have any experience w makita. I have DeWalt 20volt everything now.

Make sure the lower bearing the blade rides on has little to no slop now. The cheap models will not keep the blade square. All of those companies make a good one and a crapy model

I'm a fairly serious woodworker and I've had a Makita jig saw for nearly 10 years. It's been fantastic!

Bosch is a good detective.

The guys that built my cabinets used a Bosch corded jig saw. They tried a different brand but took it back and replaced it with another Bosch. I don’t use one enough to wear one out in this lifetime. So no personal experience.

I use DeWalt.

Makita any day. My woodworking friends only run Makita and Milwaukee. They are not easy on tools, and swear by those two brands. After college I lived with them, and I watched them burn up a brand new DeWalt in a day. He bought a Makita the next day, and has had it ever since.
