    Advice on fleas

I do not have any pets nor do my neighbors. my back yard is 1/4 acre and I’ve never seen a flea on the property in 25+ years ! Yesterday I went out to my shop and the back yard is infested with the damm things ! My son said the deer have been sleeping back there but I can’t see deer infesting it like it is ? What can I spray the yard with to kill these damm things ? Obviously four days with snow covered ground did not have any effect on them !

I use Beneficial nematodes, you can get them and any reputable nursery and they work great. It takes a little effort though.

I wonder if I could just spray the yard with Demond or something like that?

Demon works great. Spray my place twice a year no roaches spiders or any thing.

Whatever pesticide you decide to go with it will take multiple treatments.. Their eggs are virtually impossible to kill... I had an out break in my 1200 sq foot shop and I hit them with numerous different "recommended" pesticides and they gave me fits.. I would completely wet the floor every time. I treated it 2 times a week for a month to finally get rid of them... GOOD LUCK......

Permethrin concentrate from Tractor Supply. Dilute it per instructions in a yard sprayer. Solved our problem

This and as stated it will take several applications.

Fleas are hard to get rid of. If you are treating indoors you need to add an IGR to disrupt their life cycle. Outside i don't think the IGRs work well because they breakdown in sunlight. So just treat regularly. Start now so they don't get started. In my experience it's way easier to prevent outbreaks than to kill them once they get started. We had them in my garage last year and in our house year before. Takes a month or 2 to completely get rid of them. I started spraying this past weekend. We havw several "barn cats" that are fairly tame but stay outside in a little out building. I cleaned up and soaked it good with onslaught fastcap and an IGR. Will hit it again in a couple weeks

Rabbits and squirells carry tons of fleas. Lucky for you fleas dont survive on humans due to our lack of hair and nutruinet rich blood so I woudlnt worry much about an infestation breaking out if you dont own animals. I used a weed killer by Roundup on my yard awhile back that did a good number on them.

We used these and one application would last for 3-4 years.

Cats like to roam around from yard to yard, go to a pest control place or feed store buy some granular and spread around and get something to spray and spray up your tree trunks side of house extc. Diazinon in the granular works good, do it now and again in may as it starts warming up and rain will activate it. I believe you can buy cedar granules

Be wary. When our daughter was about 10- or 11-years old, she became very ill, with very unusual symptoms that made diagnosis difficult. We were ultimately referred to a pedi infectious disease specialist who diagnosed her with Lyme disease. We suspect this is how she got it.
