Default Port Aransas fishing

Hey fellas. Any suggestions on fishing near port aransas without a guide or boat? Pier and jetty my best options. Would like to catch something to keep and eat. No much of fishing saltwater so any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Looking for the same info. We’ll be there next week and I know nothing about salt fishing. Hoping to be able to catch something.

Find a pier with lights, live shrimp free lined with a little #8 treble hook.

Packery channel and Wilson's cut. Don't stray far from your vehicle at Wilson's cut due to theft. You can drive back to the Shamrock cove area and wade. Packery is jetty fishing but you can go to the backside of the island area and wade.

A big 3 oz spoon off the end of the jetty and hold on. I always start at daylight at the beach with a topwater and work my way out as the sun rises. I have caught trout, reds, smacks, sharks and we'll most everything doing this. If you have big enough gear and the gulf is clear you have a real good chance at a king off the end.

Take a trip just a little further out to bird island basin and you can wade fish the flat lots of trout caught out there. I fought my biggest out there 27”. Throw top waters at daylight and paddle tails during the day.

My advice is scout / prepare the day before and start fishing before daylight.
Enjoy the dawn and sunrise. Gonna be crowded too.

Good luck with the weather.

Nice place. About as good of Texas beach vacation as you can get.
Nearby Golf course is tough, but fun.

Looking for some info also. We did pretty good at Packery channel at the jetties and also where it dumps into the lagoon. Surf fishing wasn't so hot but it was extremely rough. Are there any good surf spots between Port A and Corpus or is it better to take a short trip down Pins?
