You know my theory is on this. I think during the rut some of these bucks travel far and wide and end up in territory unknown.

I had the same thing happen. Monster 10, and a Monster 8. No next season. Land owner sold property, Gonna bulldoze for storage units. Breaks my heart. Had 6 great seasons on that property.
