Pros/Cons of a pontoon boat?

We have a little beater 18' Bass Buggy that we picked up 2 summers ago when we sold our wakeboard boat. It's cosmetically pretty ugly but has a smooth 90HP 4 Stroke EFI mercury on it that has never missed a beat and we only paid $4k at the start of the Vid'.
We talk about upgrading all the time but can't bring ourselves to do it after a string of fancy wakeboard boats that we freaked out if they were dirty. It's nice to let the kids eat cheetos and get in with muddy feet.
Only downsides for us:
Motor is too slow for watersports. We are pretty active so tubing isn't "fun" to us.
Still trying to figure out a decent trolling motor setup for fishing but 9/10 times we just take the express I share with my FIL... But it's a little on the small side to take the whole family fishing.

I’ve been warned it doesn’t sound as good when listening to the audio only version.
That’s one of those pieces of advice I’ve taken without feeling the need to validate.

Pro, you can put more women on them, who have very little clothing on, on them.
Con, you get in more trouble with the wife, because of above pro.Last edited by RifleBowPistol; 08-12-2022, 09:26 PM.

I don’t own a pontoon but a freind of mine has a 22’. Like others have said hard to load in the wind or when others creating wakes, it also rode rough to me. So with all the information I bought a 22’ Hurricane Deck boat. Easy load, even by yourself, ride real comfortable, I’ve never pulled a skier but have pulled tubes with. With 4 adults & 6 kids it pulls the tube good. It’s running a Johnson 150 2 stroke.
