Don't feel bad Jeff I did the exact same thing Thursday morning on a nice boar... my first solo boar of the season came in and I hit high. Found a few droplets of blood about 50 yds away on his trail and it disappeared. I walked the area for 2hrs and never found anything else. Made me sick.
