    COVID causing hearing loss?

I had a little (short) bout the COVID about 3 weeks ago. Since then my hearing has decreased considerably.(I will preface to say that my hearing is quite bad already, having lost nearly 60 % of my hearing many years ago)
Has anyone with known COVID issues noticed any loss of hearing?

Weird you say this. I’m 33 but have terrible hearing already. I had to give up racing stock cars cause no matter what hearing protection I wore I feel like I’ve got strep throat after a race cause my ears hurt so bad they make my throat feel inflamed. Tinnitus is a constant thing of course but this goes beyond that. Anyways, I had Covid about 2-3 weeks ago and my ears have been extra screwed up since then. Constant popping and soreness like I’ve been exposed to to much noise. Basically feel like I’ve been shooting a bunch or around things like the race track where I'm exposed to a bunch of noise. I work commercial construction so I am exposed but since Covid my ears have just really been mad.

I haven’t personally dealt with the hearing issues (I lost smell for the last year and my taste has never been the same) but I have heard (no pun intended) of others having hearing loss.

      Interesting article below
The SARS-CoV-2 virus can infect cells of the inner ear, including hair cells, which are critical for both hearing and balance, a new study suggests. Researchers from MIT and Massachusetts Eye and Ear also found that the pattern of infection seen in human ear tissue is consistent with the symptoms seen in a study of 10 Covid-19 patients who reported a variety of ear-related symptoms.

Im currently in childrens hospital in Plano. My son had Covid and since has developed crazy stomach issues. I mean it’s bad. Ringing in ears is actually a Covid symptom. My son has it and he’s 10 and never had anything like this ever. He also passes out and has rapid eye movement and cannot keep anything down. So send up some prayers for me and my kids.

Wow! Prayers your way. That is scary. Whats his temp?

What is weird is I was literally thinking my hearing was worse and logged into TBH and saw this. Maybe I will get checked.

I will say that my daughter, son and myself got an ear infection right after and/or during COVID 3 weeks ago. .

The stuff he’s got it’s of course the latest and greatest of Covid. Just our luck. So my son is Covid negative on a Covid test currently. He tested positive 3 weeks ago. Covid developed into a cough. The cough worsened and he started saying my stomach my stomach. So I take him back to a kids urgent care and they treat him for the cough. That lasted about 3 days then he was screaming in pain from his stomach. Went to Denton regional and was told he was just constipated. So they give him some laxitives. No relief. So I give him a bottle of magnesium citrate. Explosion. He went and went. So I’m thinking we re good. Nope still my stomach my stomach. So back to urgent care for kids. They send us to Plano childrens where he was admitted to the er thru the hospital. Childrens flushes him w 4.5 gallons thru an eng tube of go lightly. So inside he’s clean. Still stomach is hurting and hurting. Now the ringing in the ears has started as well as passing out. I had to have my neighbor help me load my son in my truck at midnight last night. Drive 100mph back to childrens where we are now.

The newest is that Covid can be negative but still survive in your gut. So your stool tests positive for Covid. The Covid in the gut is wreaking havoc on my son. He’s all of 10. Hopefully we find out more tmrw. I’m here in his room with him at childrens now.

                          Pervis--

I'd be concerned for bowel ischemia from microclotting as covid has been well documented to cause clots.
My good friend has been in hospital 3 weeks now bc the clots he got ended up in the renal arteries after Covid infection. He's 40 and healthy as they come...This is no joke and had he not left corpus I'm sure he would have died. Renal failure and pizzing blood is not anything you want to experience.
Can you see a gastrointestinal specialist and maybe look at the possibilities of mesenteric ischemia or ? Poor kiddo prayer up for yall

I had it. Mine was from the congestion. It took me a little over a month to fully get clear of Covid. My case was different lingering systems than hearing loss, but I did have some just because my ears were plugged up.

Get yourself a neti pot and start doing the nasal rinse stuff. It won't make an overnight difference, but it will start getting all those nasal passages and ears cleaned out. It helped me a lot.

Man my prayers for you all. I had this issue, albeit not near as bad as you describe. Stomach pain for a month. I hope it passes quickly.
