Window unit AC's with heater ??

I may be looking to buy a window unit for the hunting cabin. It will need to cool and heat roughly 600 sq/ft

What are the pros and cons of a 115v versus a 230 volt unit?

I'm thinking maybe a 12k BTU Big enough? If not what's the next size up?

Are they all built roughly the same quality? Is there a place to buy that's better than just Lowe's or Home Depot?

You wont need the heater. Texas is gonna have 300 days over 200deg in 20 more years.

My cabin in 12x20 and it does a fine job. Sucker will dang near freeze you out during the summer work weekends.

                In on this.
I'll be looking for a window unit as well. Looking at a 10,000 btu for a 12x28.
Haven't decided on one with both AC & Heat or just get a couple electric heater.

Will be ran on generator since we don't have power.

I'd rather pay for the heater in the unit. I don't trust electric heaters after having a couple catch fire

I'm curious what you think the heater in the unit runs on, unicorn farts?

                              I think you misunderstood....

I think the heater in the unit is of better quality than an individual space heater...especially the cheap ones..

I have had two catch fire in my house. My wife like to run one near her desk and in the bathroom even when the rest of us are sweating..
