New pond build - East Texas

We are in the process of building a shop house on 10 acres and decided to go ahead and build a pond. We needed a lot of dirt around our lean to’s on the shop to make it not as steep. I think we pulled nearly 50 loads of dirt out of the pond and used it all around the property.

Here are a few pictures of the pond.

I still have to add some more brush, concrete culvert and some rocks in it.

We also installed drains for each gutter underground that runs down to the culvert so all the water from the roof makes it in the pond.

The wife has sent me back to town twice today to get more rock for the pond....put 6 tons in the pond so the fish will have 2 rock piles

Ponds, tanks, lakes, etc. have always got my interest, and these are the best pond construction pics I’ve seen, thanks for passing them along. Really like your idea of moving water from roof to the pond. Nice work, will be watching your progress on this project, good luck.

I didnt notice any spillway or overflow. Is overflow water going around the dam near th road?
