My dad and uncle recently purchased 400 acres in Hamilton County. It’s half open native grass pastures, half cedar thickets. Currently, no food plots or crops are planted. We have leased cattle grazing on the property for the last two years since we purchased it.
We are obviously trying to improve the hunting on the property, but have to have some kind of income-producing endeavor that maintains our ag. valuation, even if it’s meager. Cattle has so far been counterproductive to our hunting efforts. Oats, sorghum and winter wheat are all cash crops in our county.
Any ideas?
