I've never shot or owned one but the Mathews Switchback would get my vote due to what I've heard.

Gathering popcorn waiting for the show to begin.... Honestly even the cheap starter bows are pretty dang good in the past 20 years.

I shot an elite bow once. Absolutely loved it. But the draw length wasn't right for me and another friend convinced me to buy a Hoyt. Lol.

I have heard a lot about the Mathews Switchback. What made it such a good bow?

I'd say the Mathews Switchback or Switchback XT would be tough to beat.

With that said, my dad still has a Diamond Black Ice purchased new back in 2007. That bow is solid and at the time, cost almost half as much as the Mathews Switchback XT at the time.

Those of you saying old bows are wrong. Every major manufacturer currently makes a better bow than those. Faster, smoother, quieter.

That's not saying those weren't great bows, certainly innovative for their time, but they aren't as good as current bows.

Loaded question. Might be as bad as the Ford/Chevy/Dodge questions.

NO way to say honestly. We are all different and we all do not like the same thing nor do the different bows fit us the same. This is an individual choice period!

Iíve pretty well always shot bear bows, with a few exceptions. Iíd have to say either the 2009 truth 2 or the 2010 bear attack. I enjoyed both

Toss up between the latest and greatest of all the big manufacturers.

No way in hell a bow that came out 5 years ago is better than a 2020 model... although they dont kill deer any deader.

^^^^For a tree stand/feeder hunter like me, the difference between the best and the worst would have resulted in the same number of kills over the past 25 years IMO.
