Dang, y'all eat good at the lease!

We usually bring easy stuff to eat on the go and will keep. Sandwiches made at home, slices of pizza, protein shakes, trail mix, plenty of water, and a big bottle of whiskey for when we kill something.

We've got a good group at camp this year. The big hits have been
Venison barbacoa (front legs smoked - corn tortilla, avocado, cheese and hot sauce)
      Venison carnitas (similar to barbacoa)
      Venison chili
Venison-bacon burgers (we've done this 3-4 times and good each time)
Sausage wraps (tortilla, cheese, spicy mustard, onion, pepers)
Pulled pork (both sandwiches and quesadilla)

We still do the standard steak and beans. Just the above seemed to be a bigger hit

Biscuits always seemed to be the in the oven for breakfast.

Lunch is what ever you brought.

Dinner would typically be based on how many we had in camp

              Spaghetti and meat sauce
              Red beans and rice
              Chicken and andouille jambalaya
              Turkey Gumbo
BBQ chicken, backed beans, and potato salad

If you were eating dinner, you'd put up $10 in the morning. Before the evening hunt, someone would make a run to the store and get what ever we were cooking for dinner.

Everyone seemed to just take a turn cooking, which was nice for after the evening hunt. Dinner would be ready and waiting.

We'd do steak and potatoes every now and again, but it would bring your own steak.

I make it a point to bring fish for several people so that it will free up some room for venison in the freezer

Fire up the pit and put alot of meat on. Wild hog if we killed any. Borracho beans in the crock pot. Chips, salsa, tortillas, jalapeƱos onions and cilantro. Eat for several days with no more cooking and no dishes to do.
