Leakey Management Deer

Pops shot this one few weeks ago off our property in Leakey, Real County. Not seeing much on camera and this dude tried to sneak around to another feeder on us. I think the freezes, and drought hurt the population this year in our area. Too many coyotes and pigs on camera lately. Headed back out this weekend with a buddy from Houston hoping to have some better luck on activity.

Taxidermist estimated this one at about 7.5 years old. Any yay's or nay's on that age estimate?

I hunted west/northwest of Leakey near Vance/Jo Jan Van for 26 years. Some friends we still have on that lease have told us that the coyote population has exploded out there.

I have places in Leon, Burleson and Coleman counties, the coyotes are getting out of control on all three properties.

When I hunted with a buddy outside Leakey in the '80's we would've paraded that buck down main street. Congrats on a cool buck!

We seem to have more and more pics of coyotes on camera, i think its time to end the morning hunts and the start the afternoon hunts trying to call them in and take 1-2 if possible.
