Old Snap-on 9/32 Ratchet and break over bar

So I had purchased an old small machinist tool box from an Estate sale a long time ago . While I was checking other items I saw this stashed and kind of covered up under a table. I looked around to make sure no one was Eyeing me lol- then tried to pick up the box and it was extremely heavy. I opened the first larger drawer just to take a peek and it was full of Snap-on and blue point wrenches. I quickly shut it back up and covered it back up like it was. I thought that there is no way this will go for less than $300-400 dollars . When it was time they put it up on the auction table - described it and what was inside of it and to my amazement I got it for $75! Now the majority of these items were pe-50’s . Yesterday I was working on my tractor , grabbed what I thought was a 1/4” ratchet and I couldn’t get the stinking socket on it. I grabbed another newer snap-on 1/4 drive and compacted the two and sure nuff the older one was larger . After a short research I found out these 9/32’s are really old and made in sets in a metal box. I thought someone may have done the same thing I have

My dad was an airplane mechanic in WW2 and came home with a ratchet just like that. But it was a 3/8's

I need to go dig through all of my older sockets to see if I have any that match ! All of my 1/4” is in the same drawer so it may take me a while .

I also found out that these can go back to 1933! The ratchet works smoothly and is built a little more heavy duty then today’s Snap-on

I love digging through old tools at sales, especially machinist tools but I often keep an eye out for Plomb tools as well

The blue point wrenches are awesome! They are a lot thinner
And danged strong! I won’t let go of those! I may let go of this 9/32’s combo though.

What does the box you picked up look like?

It was ( it fell apart) about 16-18” long , 14” deep and 14” tall! The front was a panel that folded down to get to the drawers.

I just Google searched that ratchet. The One on Ebay says 1945. That belongs in a museum.

Was it wood? I always look for wooden machinist boxes, I absolutely love them.
