                            You use the oval you cut out as the backing and trim ever so slightly around the edges and skive it back a little thinner then cement glue the skin to it with a little edge to run over. After it's setup, glue that piece of covered leather to your back piece of the strapping and then glue your top strap. The you stitch in around the inlay - some forget this and it's a big deal.

                            Initially, I scale off the outer scales so they don't "flake" off during use. After the entire piece is done, I use tan kote to rub over the leather and skin for protection. Hope this help!
