made a quick round trip to ranch to pick up some TC pics and check on things. Man it is hot down there right now and sure could use some serious rain. Anyway deer are looking great. I will be shooting the sticks this pm because it is going to be a really fun season.
First pic was a group of deer on first thread but just a little further along. We call the the 3 amigos as they are always together.
Next deer was a really nice 4 or 5 year old 10 last year. He has added g5's this year and is a really nice looking buck.
I have noticed on several of the other threads that the deer are backing off the protein. I am not finding that at all. As it has got hotter and drier they are are pounding the protein. check out this crowd.
We have at least 2 bucks that have grown abnormal brows (one even looks like an extra beam). They were on previous thread also and continue to get better.
The last 2 pics are of a deer we nearly shot last year as a 5 year old cull. We normally shoot 4 year olds with 9 or less points or small frame bucks then let everything else go to 6 or 7. He had more than 9 points last year but had short tines and just not really a good looking buck. Well sometimes better lucky than good because he exploded this year as a 6 year old. Tines grew longer and he added kickers and mucho mass. Cool looking buck and i will look for pics from last year for another thread.
