Had the TC Hawken rifles out

Had the .50&.54 caliber muzzleloaders out the last two days.
In the .54 caliber I was shooting 100 grains fffg Goex Olde Eynsford powder, 425 grain Hornady Great Plains bullet and Winchester mag caps. Shot at 75 yards. First shot was high because I had adjusted the sights from using PRB. I lowered it down from my prior adjustments and put two next to each other.
Today I was shooting my .50 caliber. I was shooting 80 grains of the same powder, a 320 grain TC Maxi Ball and same caps. Only took one shot because it was deadnuts. I swabbed it and put it away.

Man I love playing & shooting with the mz’s

Amazing how 80-90 grains will move a 50 cal so accurately

Good deal. I sold my 50 a month or so ago. Too much headache for me.

I am usually lucky to hunt with them 2 or 3 days out of the year. So for as little as they get pulled out they are worth the hassle.

I've been looking hard at getting into muzzleloaders.

Wife said that she has heard several shots this morning. Opening day of muzzleloader is today. I have 3 more days of work.

My heart sank when I read this but then realized you are not in Texas. Ours runs 2 weeks in Jan.
