Need computer Guru help.

Got a new laptop and am trying to run 2 monitors. I had 2 running at one time shortly on a usb to hbmi cord. It went out and have not been able to get both up since. It will regconize either monitor but only 1 at a time.

Right click on the desktop and select "display settings". You should see monitor 1 & 2. Do you? If so scroll down to "Multiple displays" click the down arrow and select "Extend desktop to this display". Then click "save these settings" and you are good to go.

It shows the laptop display and 1 monitor.

My recommendation is to make sure you have all the latest drivers, (Go to Asus and search by model). I had to get this to plug into the Thunderbolt port for one HDMI connection to monitor and then used the built in HDMI on the laptop. After looking more, I think a thunderbolt cable is the answer. Right now no matter how I wire it, it will only reconize 1 monitor at a time..
