My friends purchased a Moultrie feeder this year - one of the plastic drum type that sits lower to the ground. You can fill it without using a ladder. The control unit is mounted on the side instead of with the motor like their other units.
Well... one of the animals on the property hit the "Easy Lock" housing of the motor (it mounts by turning it into the drum a small amount), and broke off the tabs that hold it in place. So all the corn drained out the feeder and the motor was left dangling by the power cord. It won't screw back in because the housing is broken.
So, we looked around for one. Nobody had them in stock locally. Nobody online. Called Moultrie. They said that there should be "plenty" for sale on Ebay and Amazon, and gave me the stock number of MFP-8002 and the name "Easy Fill / Lock Kit". I've searched. Can't find it anywhere. So it looks like Moultrie only. Have to order ($50 - 1/3 the cost of the whole feeder, plus tax), and wait.
Haven't ordered it yet, as I'm tempted to turn that feeder into a protein feeder with the "dinner plate" kit, and just buy a metal drum feeder like mine to replace the corn feeder.
So just a word of warning - if you buy one and it breaks, be prepared to have to order (and wait) for shipping direct from Moultrie. Because I can't find them anywhere else.
If anyone has seen them for sale, please let me know soon, as the dinner plate conversion kit will be on order soon.
All the best,
Glenn
