Yep, HuntinFool says that they have had leftover the last few years for the general tag. I can't seem to find a general unit that is too my liking yet in Montana so I may just do the New Mexico Landowner route if I don't get my Missouri Breaks limited entry unit.

Do you know much about Montana General units?

The units that allow either sex are more of the quantity then quality, unit 560. There are good deer though. The one in my avatar is a small 3yr old that was chasing a doe in our front yard. I'm not that familiar with the breaks but, I'm getting a canoe just for hunting the breaks. I'm planning on doing a float trip if nothing else for deer.

According to an email I received from NM G&F - The delay has to do with the Terk overturn a couple weeks ago. Figuring out what to do with all those NR Bighorn applications has delayed the rest of the Big Game drawings.

NM has historically been good about releasing early but I bet it'll be right at 4/30. I was hoping to know my NM fate before I put in for NV but not much chance of that now.

Well, I can barely sleep at night waiting for New Mexico to release the draw results.

Website still shows April 23rd and now it's in bold red.

Anyone hear anything more about the delay?

I believe the official date is May 30th but there will be ways to backdoor it prior to that date.

I heard the back door method for checking if you drew a tag in New Mexico is working.

For Elk.... Log into the state website and try and buy a License. If it allows you to add it to your cart then you d not draw. This only works if you asked for a refund if you did not draw.

If you applied for multiple species you can apply for private land licenses for those species.

Not 100% this is accurate...I hope not because I was able to add a new license to mine

Yeah - hope you're totally wrong about this. I just tried for me and my wife and I was able to add a regular hunting license to both of our carts.

We just got word we got our Montana big game tags for 2014. The bull in my profile picture was from 2010 public land.

Hunted bull muzzleloader in AZ last November also, shot a ratty bull on opening day but didn't put in an application since I just moved to Corpus.

I'm hunting just south of Butte and Bozeman MT this year. If I get a full set of Sitka gear, would that work for that area? I've never been to MT. Any camp suggestions would surely help me out.

Try adding a Private deer license in the system. If you can add a private license then you drew Elk, If you can't then you drew deer or both.

Again, this method is unsubstantiated....I have not seen this in the past.
