Absolutely, look up Blade Show in Atlanta. Largest knife/edc show I believe but there are tons of smaller shows around the country as well as dedicated forums like the USN. Tons of highly respected and highly followed custom makers who have a massive demand. Custom, knives, flashlights, high end everything you can imagine someone would carry in their pockets on a daily basis. One of the great groups is Steel Flame, their motto is HGR Humble Gratitude and Respect. Lots of great gents.

Haha part of it is yes, tons of guys who carry sub $50 knives a cheap light and the essentials nothing fancy.

I carry a Benchmade auto, but that little Nebo light has been solid for nearly a year now, rechargeable via USB, and under $20 at Batteries Plus. I’ve had some high end lights that went belly up before that. My flashlight probably gets used as much as my knife.
