    308 hunting rounds

    For Texas game right not.

Want to try several factory loads and see what works in this rifle. Name me off some good bullets for deer mainly.

I just sighted in a new x bolt in 308 last week. Shot Hornady 165 SST's and 180 gr Federal Nosler Partitions under 1 inch. I have shot deer and pigs with the partitions before and have no complaints.

We like the 308 in Winchester Deer Season XP 150grain. It’s a deer dropper.

Hornady American Hunter has given me the best combination of accuracy and killing abilities.

How far will you shoot? Anything 200 and in pretty much any quality factory soft point will do the job just fine. I used to buy expensive arse ammo. I quit doing it. I have been buying federal non-typical for .308 and for 6.5 creed and have used some core lokt. Both drop them DRT just like stuff twice the price. The animals won't call you cheap.

Core Lokt has never let me down so I haven't had to try any of the others.

                    150 gr Federal Premium Fusion.

Shoots great in all my 308’s.

                      Winchester
                      Remington core lokt
                      Hornady American

I haven’t had any trouble with standard cup-and-core bullets on deer. Find an inexpensive one that shoots well and go kill stuff.

I use this stuff mainly for the same reason I stick and not take a card when I have 21 at a blackjack table. It shoots the same hole in my 308 so I stick.

                          Whatever your gun shoots best.
I’d try the cheaper soft points first in 150 & 165grs

Second this one. I shot FMJ remingtons before and didn’t have great results. Had one get away from me after watching a rear shoulder hit at 50-60 yards. Never found that deer. Most would run a minimum of 30 yards with the FMJ’s
